Visit Augustus Restaurant Taunton

Locals in the know seek out this wonderful little restaurant which is tucked away in a courtyard in the centre of Taunton. Chef Richard Guest, previously of the nearby Castle Hotel, is doing great things in this solo venture, along with Cedric Chirossel at front of house. The relaxed, laid-back bistro approach at Augustus produces cooking that, for all its simple appearance, has the hidden depth of the chef’s fine dining background. Expect unfussy dishes with French, English and Asian influences. There’s a particularly good wine list too.
